Catherine is a Chinese national who has lived and worked in the UK for 8 years. Her early career in China was spent in the hospitality sector running locations in the family's restaurant business and with China Southern Airlines.
She went on to join her husband in his investment banking business and worked on a number of IPOs, fund raising projects and venture capital investments across various sectors. It was during this period that China was experiencing burgeoning demand for entertainment services from a rapidly growing middle class with substantial disposable income.
The cinema sector was achieving exponential growth with an estimated 6 million Chinese now taking cinema seats every day and more cinema screens in China than in the USA. Catherine saw that these growth trends would extend to the live performing arts including strong demand for foreign productions.
The sector needed capital to service that growth and they established an investment fund focused on the development of the performing arts including scripts and copyright as well as live performance. In 2017 they formed Shanghai LLTM Entertainment as a vehicle to provide investment capital, and established partnerships with Shanghai Theatre Academy, Shanghai Grand Theatre and IMC Global - Cloud Music with the aim of nurturing and delivering outstanding live performances to Chinese audiences.
Catherine came to the UK in 2015 with her 2 children and since that time has worked to establish an extensive business network. She has supported a number of Chinese businesses as they look to develop in the UK and is Vice Chair of the China UK Business Association.
With these strong foundations in place, she has established LLTM Entertainment UK and is its Chief Executive Officer.
