LLTM Entertainment UK is a unique and ambitious “start-up” built on strong foundations developed over a number of years in China. Our mission is to create significant value and cultural enrichment by bridging the divide between the live performance sectors in China, and the UK, Europe and the USA through our presence established in London.
London is the theatre capital of the world with over 40 theatres delivering a rich diversity of live concerts and world leading shows. China is experiencing exponential growth in live performance development and production. In 2023 alone the China Association of Performing Arts reported an almost threefold growth in the number of commercial live performances attracting audiences of almost 110 million people. Our goal is to match the world's best with the fastest growing. Strict Government censorship, cultural differences and the lack of licensing of organisations able to import foreign productions have all helped create the current divide.
Our sister company, Shanghai LLTM Entertainment has created a strong and enduring Partnership able to participate fully in the growth in China. With access to capital, appropriate licenses, extremely talented people and a track record of success and delivery, this Partnership gives us a solid platform on which to launch LLTM Entertainment UK and start to bridge that divide.
Shanghai LLTM Entertainment was established in 2017 and has supported the development of new material and the delivery of outstanding shows and performances across China through its Partnership with Shanghai Theatre Academy, Shanghai Grand Theatre and Cloud Music. They now hold one of a very few licences to import musical performances into China and have access to over 50 venues across mainland China, Macao and Hong Kong together with a growing stock of home-grown Chinese productions available for export.
LLTM Entertainment UK will build on that platform and provide the opportunity for the best shows and artists from the West to perform live for Chinese audiences and for Chinese shows, copyright, artists and performers to be exported internationally.
We believe strongly that there is a significant opportunity to create value and at the same time, through the performing arts, build a much stronger cultural understanding between China and the West. We will work tirelessly to enable global audiences to share the excitement and joy of the creative and performing wonders from our collective amazing artists and performers.
